Thomas Micklewright was born in 1831 in Gnosall, Staffordshire. He was the third child of Andrew and Mary Micklewright (nee Simpson). He was christened on 15th May 1831 at St Lawrence Church in Gnosall.
In 1833, sadly, Thomas's older brother Henry passed away age 4 at Forton.
His mother Mary, passed away on 7th November 1838, shortly after the birth of younger brother William. We are not sure of the cause of death but it may have been a complication of childbirth given the short period of time.
In 1841, Thomas, 10, was staying with the Fieldhouse family in Forton and working alongside his sister, Elizabeth,12, as a Farm Servant.
In 1841, his father married again. His new wife was Elizabeth Walker.

We believe this may be the census for Thomas in 1861. He was working as a carter for the Heatley family in Broughton.
On 20th June 1863. Thomas married Eliza Harrison, daughter of John Harrison at Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire.
The couple had their first child Andrew in 1864
Their second child Mary was born in 1867
Their thrid child Thomas was born in 1870
1871 - Thomas lived with his family in Hanley, Stoke . They had the Hodson family staying with them as boarders.
Son William was born in 1877. 
Daughter Eliza was born in 1880.
1881 - 4 St Mark Street, Hanley
Thomas lived with his wife Eliza and children in St Mark Street, Hanley.
We think Thomas wife Eliza may have passed away between 1881 and 1891.
1891- Thomas is lodging with the Miller family at Hanley.
1901 -  Thomas is living with his daughter Mary Jane and her family at Stoke On Trent.
Thomas died in the Summer months of 1902 at Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire.
