William was born in October 1838 in Forton, Staffordshire. His parents were Andrew and Mary Micklewright. He was their 6th child. 

Tragically, William only lived a very short time and was baptised on 13th October but died and was buried on 22nd October 1838. 
Sadly, his mother Mary, passed away on 7th November 1838, shortly after the birth of William. We are not sure of the cause of death but it may have been a complication of childbirth given the short period of time and Williams early passing.
