Mary Terrett (originally spelt Territ or Territt), was born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales in Spring 1851. She was the eldest child of James and Elizabeth Territ who emigrated to Merthyr from Ireland during the famous Irish Potato Famine of 1845-1850.

In late 1871 Mary, 20 married Andrew Reed, also 20 in Merthyr Tydfil. He was an Irish labourer.
The couple had their first child, Elizabeth, known as 'Lizzie' in Spring 1873.
In 1881, Mary, 29 lived at a lodging house in Vaughan Street along with her husband, Andrew , a labourer and her daughter, Lizzie, now 8.
We have not yet found any conclusive documents for the couple or their daughter after 1881.
