1891 - Marriage of Richard Terrett and Mary Jemima Griffiths from Pontypridd, at Merthyr Tydfil.
In 1894, the couples had a daughter, Cecilia, born in Merthyr Tydfil.
In 1896, the couples had a son, John, born in Merthyr Tydfil.
On 9th March 1899, daughter, Annie Mary was born in Merthyr Tydfil.
In 1901, aged 36, Richard lived at 36, Coedeae(?) Court, in Lower Merthyr Tydfil. He was a Coal Miner. His birth year is 5 years out on the census but this is not unusual at all ! He lived with his wife, Mary, and children Cecilia,6, John, 4 and Annie Mary, 2.
In 1904, Richard and Mary had a son, William James, born in Pontycymmer, Bridgend.
In 1908 they had daughter, Winifred, born in Pontycymmer, Bridgend.
On 7th May 1909, Richard got summoned by Bridgend Police Court for his childrens non-attendance at school.
This appeared to be quite a common misdemeanor and Richard got fined 10s.
We know from the document that the family lived at 82 Victoria Street, Pontyeymmer in 1909.
In 1911, Richard, 46, and his family lived at 82, Haldan Cottages, Pontycymmer. He lived with his wife, Mary and children Cecilia, 16, John, 14, Annie, 12, William, 6 and Winifred, 3. Richard was a coal miner and his son John, an apprentice coal miner. We learn from the census that the couple had also had two other children which had died before 1911.
Sadly, Richard lost his wife Mary when she passed away in 1919.
In 1939, Richard lived with his daughter , Annie Mary and her family. Annie was married to Evan Bowen and had a daughter, May,6 and son, David, 3. They lived at Ty-Gwyn Garregside , in Blaengarw. Annies husband was a colliery hewer and they had married in 1935.
Richard passed away in Bridgend, Wales in early 1953.
