Sadly, Andrews wife , Mary, passed away on 7th November 1838, shortly after the birth of William. We are not sure of the cause of death but it may have been a complication of childbirth given the short period of time.
In 1841, Andrew, widowed had met his future 2nd wife, Elizabeth Walker,  and they were living together in Forton at the time of the census.
Elizabeth had a young daughter, Emma Walker, age 2 and also at the house were Andrews daughters Harriet, 8 and Mary, 6. Andrew was an agricultural labourer.

Unfortunately, Andrew was once again left a widower in 1852, when his 2nd wife Elizabeth passed away.
We have been unable to find a 1861 census for Andrew as yet. There is a marriage in Wimblebury in 1870 when he appeared to have married a Sarah Brooks but we believe this may be a red herring. He lived next door to a Sarah Brooks on the 1851 census but she does not appear to have been widowed by 1870 and is still Brooks on the 1881 census, so this remains a mystery.
In 1871, Andrew, now 65, was a boarder at Wimblebury, living in the household of William and Susannah Higgs. Andrews occupation is labourer, probably at one of the local collieries.
